Mar Ivanios College of Education, Kuthoor, Perabe, organized a series of Onam competitions on 27, 28, and 29 August 2026 as part of the Onam celebrations. The competitions were conducted with the theme “Onam Varnam–2K26 – A Celebration of Our Culture, Heritage & Unity”, bringing together student teachers in a spirit of joy, creativity, and togetherness. The events included “Varna Poovu,” “Onam Varavayi,” and “Maveli Varnam,” which provided opportunities for students to showcase their artistic talents, creativity, cultural knowledge, and teamwork. The competitions featured activities such as flower arrangement and pookkalam-related creative work, Onam-themed singing, and artistic representation of the traditional Maveli concept. Students participated enthusiastically in traditional attire, adding colour and vibrancy to the celebrations. The programmes highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Kerala while promoting cooperation, creativity, healthy competition, and unity among the student teachers. The three-day celebration created a festive atmosphere on the campus and made the Onam celebrations a memorable experience for everyone.
